Studio Director

Richard Winsor has worked in major TV & Film productions for the BBC, Channel 4 & Vertigo Films amongst others. Most notably playing Dr Cal Knight in BBC Casualty where he has worked with some of the industries leading directors in over 200 episodes. Richard is also critically acclaimed in a number of theatre productions including playing Tony Manero in the newest Saturday Night Fever West End production and straight plays including Frankenstein and The Anastasia File amongst many other productions.

Richard Graduated CSB 2001 and is a post graduate of Guildhall School of Music & Drama. During his 22 year career Richard has never stopped training and has worked with some of the leading acting studios in London & Los Angeles giving him his unique insight into the industry and honing his coaching style along the way.

​

Richard has also worked with Mathew Bourne's New Adventure and helped create principal roles in some of his most celebrated work including The National Theatre’s Play Without Words, Dorian Gray, Edward Scissorhands and Midnight Bell. He played principal roles The Swan/Stranger in Swan Lake world tour and for the 2011 filmed version. He recently played Luca in The Car Man at The Royal Albert Hall and Tybalt in Romeo & Juliet.

He has been successfully running the Actors Instinct Studio since late 2022. His coaching style is a unique blend of Meisner and Method techniques which enables impulsive and truthful performances.
